Here's a great fly for tailwaters and spring creek small nymphs and pupa. Fish dead drift or with small strips in front of the trout. This method shows how to tie large feathers on small hooks. The body materials combine when wet to form a very effective appearance.
A big thanks to Katie and John Demuth whom I met
at the Fly Fishing Show in Atlanta last weekend.
Katie took these very nice images of some new patterns.

Steve Bird is to say the least an innovative wet fly designer and angler. His blog Soft-Hackle Journal is great resource for seeing some of the revolutionary wet flies being fished today. He prescribes to the notion that fish are the judge of the flies we design and is not afraid to try new materials and methods in the never ending advancement of the genre.
